Make Sellers an Offer They Can't Refuse (Part 3)

A recent article written by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance drew attention to a few ways that house buyers can create more competitive “appealing” offers.  Read Part 1 or Part 2 to catch up.

3. Think About an Escalator Clause: Purchase contract clauses have started becoming more common. This is when the purchaser agrees to raise their proposal if there is a higher bid provided from another purchaser.

4. Put In Earnest Money: The additional deposit will show the sellers how resolute the offer is. A purchaser might even double the earnest money offer to show their seriousness for buying the home.

Question to the Reader: Have you tried either of these strategies in the past?
